Wisdom

The aster flower has historically been said to represent wisdom. If the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, then the aster's form–simultaneously intricate and simple–serves to draw our eyes to God's ways instead of our own. Like the artwork on the cover of this ESV Prayer Journal, we will turn our attention to quiet meditation on God’s Word with an overview each week of a Bible passage followed by 5 days of teaching and prayer prompts. Over the course of 7 weeks, we will prayerfully consider the Bible’s teaching on what it means to be truly wise, how we attain wisdom, and how we apply wisdom to our lives.
